In 1957 Dyer Brook was a small populated town of around 190–210 people, known for it's agriculture. It was named after the river that runs through it.

In 1957 during the heightened peak of the cold war, and the fear that the US had against a potential nuclear attack from the Soviets. Aroostook Research Corporation was founded, a small but highly secure scientific complex was constructed on the edge of the town.

==== 1960s ====
During the early 60s, Aroostook Research Corporation had been making great progress in field of experimental nuclear weapon tech. This eventually led to a generously high increase of budget from the federal US government, causing a small economical boom for the town. Extra suburbs and commercial areas were built in the town to account for the increase workers at the Facility.

==== 1970s ====
During the mid 70s, the fear of immanent nuclear disaster had died down in comparison to what it was in the decades before. This meant that research could be more focused on other scientific fields, Aroostook Research Corporation had decided to expand their complex in the town. Leading to more jobs and the expansion of the town's infrastructure. With a population of 600 people, 150 of which working within Aroostook Research Corporatiom. The state of Maine declared that Dyer Brook become a City, establishing a mayor-council system, largely controlled by Aroostook Research Corporation.

==== 1983 ====
With the ever growing interest in nuclear technology and energy, Aroostook Research Corporation had begun plans for a mega research facility west of the main city, on the other side of the I-95. This would be a large underground complex, specializing in brand new experimental nuclear reactor and weapons technology, alongside acting as the new main HQ for Aroostook Research Corporation. A facility that is of safe distance from the large populated city, but still close enough for the population to commute and strive from the economic gains of the facility. This facility would be known as [[Aroostook Research Facility]].

==== 1987 ====
After the successful full construction of the facility, the initial complex contained within the city that had been there for 30 years. Was sold off, with all it's contents now moved to the much more secure and technologically advanced facility.

==== 1991 ====
1991 would bring in a massive growth of population for the city, as multiple sector expansions in the facility were under construction, alongside dedicated housing and commercial areas for research facility personnel to use. The city was now developing into it's own thriving independent commercial hub as Aroostook Research Facility became less dependent on the City to house it's Scientists and other workers.

==== Late 90s ====
In the late 90s Oakfield, a town East of the city would merge with Dyer Brook. Allowing the City to expand out East and into the already established town of Oakfield, this would make the initial size of Dyer Brook go from 38.5 square miles to 74.4 square miles making it the 6th biggest Municipality/Area in Aroostook County.

In 2014 Dyer Brook's population would surpass Presque Isle's population of 9,300, making Dyer Brook the largest city by population in Aroostook County.
